Het is bijna zover...iPod-aanluiting voor Saab 9-5

Nou, Sinterklaas hebben we dit jaar in elk geval gemist, maar Saab bemoeit zich er inmiddels blijkbaar ook mee. Dat lijkt me een goed teken.

11/19/2006: We are waiting on GM/Saab for information from the factory on optimizing the SID Text display. Meanwhile, we are in conversations with a local contract manufacturer and making provisions to have the units ready in the next few weeks. Things are looking good to have these out to our customers with outstanding orders prior to the various holiday season festivities

Waiting on GM/Saab for information kan je ook uitleggen als: GES heeft Saab iets gevraagd omdat er nog steeds iets niet goed werkt, en ze wachten nog op antwoord... Carl blijft wel steeds beloven dat er binnenkort toch echt geleverd gaat worden. Hij had de politiek in moeten gaan...

De volgende belofte:

12/03/2006: Wiring harnesses are in production, boards and interface cables will follow this week. Very good chance the AudioTrolls will be in the hands of the people who ordered them before the holidays!

Shipments will begin during December. AudioTroll units are sold out at this time, and ordering will resume in January. Thank you!

Nu maar afwachten...

Niet van mij in elk geval, want ik heb geen iPod (zie ook viewtopic.php?t=12922&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=7). Nog wat langer wachten dus. Ben inderdaad benieuwd hoe het bevalt.

... ben ook wel nieuwsgierig naar de eerste ervaringen. Op www.trollhattansaab.net werden de ontwikkelingen rondom de trollpod ook nauwlettend gevolgd, en ook daar nog geen teken van ontvangst.

12/27/2006: Belkin has sent updated cables for testing, and they passed! The final hurdle in production has been cleared and we will be shipping as soon as Belkin can ship a batch of these interface cables up to the Granite State. Als ik al die levertijdsverschuivingen hoor over de Audiotroll, lijkt het net of ik op mijn werk ben

Ik kan al vanaf 20 februari 2006 (dus ruim 10 maanden) met mijn I-pod muziek afspelen over het bestaande Kenwood systeem, en alle funktie's via het stuur bedienen. Alleen het specifiek zoeken naar een artiest of titel is niet mogelijk, maar het aantal afspeellijsten is onbeperkt. De eerste 10 kun je zo kiezen, maar wil je de lijsten 11 en hoger hebben dan moet je elke keer 1 stap hoger gaan. Voor de rest een hele fijne bediening en probleemloos. Inbouwtijd is 1minuut en 5 minuten kabels wegwerken.

Ja, dat zal dan op een nieuwe 9-5 zijn. De Kenwood werkt helaas niet op de oude 9-5's en niet op de 9-3's. Dan ben je aangewezen op de AudioTroll die waarschijnlijk binnenkort dan toch eindelijk beschikbaar is.

1/8/07 - Shipments on Series I orders will commence next week. Orders are now being taken for Series II with a 6-10 week lead time.

De uitlevering lijkt te starten en bestellen kan weer.

Song titles and artist information display on the SID, balanced line drivers push the best audio quality as possible through the amplifiers and a smart microprocessor helps you stay in control of the car and your iPod at the same time.

AudioTroll features an integrated audio pass-through to allow the use of other audio devices such as an XM or Sirius controller, laptop or MP3 player. While the control functionality is not present in this mode, it still allows the use of the Saab’s fantastic audio system.

Delivery lead time is 6-10 weeks.
